Instituted in June 1917, the medal was only awarded until 1922 with fewer than 2,000 issued. The example for sale is unnamed as issued.
In a nice EF condition, the medal has a regular surface toning with little wear and comes with a piece of ribbon and original silver pin clasp. The original John Pinches, London embossed case is in very good condition with the odd light scrape - see photos. A nice original example and an ideal replacement of a medal which are very hard to find and are rather scarce.
